Leucatin is a type of toe nail fungal infection fighting agent. A fungal infection of the nail or toenail is characterized by discoloration, thickening or crumbling, or otherwise distortion of the nail. These nail infections may cause it to become separated from the nail bed, and even some pain or slight odor.
Having a persistent fungal infection can be annoying and even embarrassing. For this reason, there are many products available on the market that claim to resolve these conditions. Leucatin was formerly manufactured and distributed by Selmedica, and advertised as being guaranteed to cure funguses of the fingernails and toenails in as little as seven days.
This product claims to help cure toenail fungus naturally, and was not a prescription product. It would be more appropriate to classify it as an herbal remedy. Now available on the internet, leucatin can come in both an oral pill form, as well as a spray, and is generally recommended to be used concurrently. The pill, taken orally twice daily is to attack the fungus internally, while the topical spray is meant to work from the outside. Many different kinds of treatments exist and Leucatin may be an alternative for you.
Manufacturers of leucatin concede that approximately ten percent of users will not see improvement with this product. They also say that with nails that start especially bad and deformed, results may not be visible until a completely new nail has grown out of the nail bed.
For treatment options other than herbal remedies, most doctors concur that it is appropriate to take an oral antifungal medication. Doctor’s are especially likely to prescribe these in cases in which the person has diabetes, is predisposed to other infections, is experiencing pain, or is embarrassed due to malformed nails. These treatments, not unlike treatments for other illnesses may have side effects. The degree of severity from those sides range from skin rash to liver damage. Users again may not see improvement until the nail has grown completely out of the nail bed.
